Sh. Arun Khanna, S/o Sh. Shiv Prakash Khanna, was born of 13th Oct, 1942, and did Schooling from Cambridge College Amritsar , F. Sc from DAV College Amritsar and B Sc from Hindu College Amritsar.
His Family business is Textiles and his desire was to go abroad for higher studies and went to Leeds University, Leeds Yorkshire, England and again got the degree of B Sc. in 1967 and returned to India in 1968. During his stay abroad he visited Russia, (Moscow and Lenin grad), Czechoslovakia, Holland, Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, and Austria etc and visited USA, Canada, Mexico and took practical training in Germany and Switzerland England & USA in 1967.
Worked in different Textile Factories in UK & USA. After returning from England, he joined his family business and joined his family business and also worked with OCM in 1971 for one year.
He joined Rotary Club Amritsar to serve the humanity and continues to be an active, dedicated Rotarian and served almost all the Committees as Chairman. In 1982-83, he was secretary of the Club and celebrated its Golden Jubilee. Many projects like Deaf & Dumb and Mentally retarded Children were established.
Very active in Textiles Industry , actively involved in solving the problems of Industry with the Government and officers concerned in different departments for Labour problems, electricity and taxation etc. He took the delegation of Textile Industry to Japan and other countries. Authority in processing of woolen & Polyester blended fabrics. Served M/S SP Worsted Mills for more than 30 years as head of department in Dying & processing. |
